"Excellent Management Information" Key to Firm Wide Roll-out of WinScribe at Walker Morris

London, 18 April 2005 – Top 50 national law firm, Walker Morris, is beginning the first phase of a firm-wide roll-out of the WinScribe digital dictation system. The introduction of WinScribe, provided by the UK’s exclusive WinScribe Platinum Partner, SRC, proved so successful during an initial pilot that the decision to roll-out was taken before the pilot period had finished.

Dominic Hayes, Walker Morris’s Head of IT, said that when choosing a digital dictation system, the management information available played a crucial role in the firm’s selection criteria.

“For the first time we have visibility of a host of management information that was simply unavailable with the analogue dictation system,” said Mr Hayes. “This enables the firm to assess the level of typing resource required, and provide higher service levels to our clients.”

“Not only can we see which secretaries are over or under-worked, we can also identify patterns of work over time and take action to target bottlenecks. Echoing the recent comments of fellow Leeds-based firm, Lupton Fawcett, Mr Hayes said that he couldn’t remember the last time he’d experienced such a smoothly run project, praising SRC’s commitment to project management.

The system has also been very positively received by users. In a survey of the pilot group, the SRC WinScribe solution received ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’ scores from fee earners in nearly all areas, including overall satisfaction, ease-of-use and whether users would recommend the system to their colleagues.

Walker Morris’ secretaries are especially positive about the benefits of the SRC WinScribe solution, which allows them to see immediately the status of work and to plan their day much more effectively. Again, the SRC WinScribe solution scored ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’ in this area.
