Irwin Mitchell Lawyers dictate over one million jobs with WinScribe system
London, October 10, 2005 - One of the UK’s largest users of WinScribe digital dictation, top 10 law firm Irwin Mitchell, has announced that it’s fee earners have dictated over 1 million jobs using the system.
Commenting on the WinScribe solution’s role in the firm’s day-to-day operations, Richard Hodkinson, Irwin Mitchell director of operations said, “With over 1000 hours of dictation being created by our fee earners each month, it’s crucial that our digital dictation system can provide uninterrupted, robust performance day-in and day-out, and that’s just what the WinScribe system has delivered from day one.”
“In a firm of our size, to complete over 1 million jobs in less than 3 years with no significant issues is extremely impressive and is a reflection of the quality of WinScribe’s technology.”
In recognition of creating the 1-millionth dictation, Sheffield-based fee earner Louise Morgan who dictated the job using the WinScribe system was presented with a box of champagne by SRC major accounts director Ian Kirton at the firm’s Sheffield head office. Janine Gates, the secretary who typed Ms. Morgan’s work was also presented with champagne.
Ms. Gates said the WinScribe system has had a massive impact on her performance and that of her colleagues, “The days of being snowed under with work and having tapes go missing are thankfully a distant memory. Our workload is now much more evenly balanced and if we’re experiencing a particularly busy period our colleagues in London can easily pick up the work; it’s all very simple and straightforward.”
Chris Hart, SRC CEO, said, “Dictation is a mission critical activity for law firms, so it’s essential that a digital dictation system is robust enough to provide uninterrupted service no matter how much work is being created. WinScribe has again proven itself to be not only hugely scaleable but also to deliver a totally reliable and easy-to-use service to fee earners and secretaries.”
The WinScribe solution has also been rolled out by numerous other top 100 and regional law firms, including Beachcroft Wansbroughs, CMS Cameron McKenna, Dickinson Dees, Walker Morris, Hill Dickinson, Morgan Cole, Pannone & Partners, Hugh James, Donns, Branton Bridge, Gorvins, Paris Smith & Randall, Ricksons and Ward Hadaway.
