Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 Professional is market-leading speech recognition technology enabling businesses to automatically transcribe recorded dictations. Employees can create documents and e-mails, write reports and fill out forms, without having to type at all. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 Professional is fully integrated with just about any Windows application.

WinScribe – Dragon NaturallySpeaking interoperability

WinScribe has had a strong and successful relationship with Nuance (formerly ScanSoft) for many years and has been successfully integrated with DSS (Dragon NaturallySpeaking Server Side Edition).

Dictation is carried out using the WinScribe Author application, or imported from other systems or digital devices. Before starting dictation for speech recognition, authors carry out a simple procedure, called Initial Training that allows the system to better recognize their individual voices. As an author dictates, the system constantly improves the recognition of their voice and vocabulary called Acoustic Adaptation and Language Adaptation respectively.

Correction is carried out using WinScribe Internet Typist. This program displays the recognized text in Microsoft Word ready for the Transcriptionist to correct. As the recording is played back, the words are highlighted on screen and synchronized with the author’s dictation. Words that have been wrongly recognized can then be corrected.
